We sell condoms, non-prescription contraceptives, lube, pregnancy tests, sex toys, Diva Cups, and introductory kink products at cost. Come visit us and check them out!

Condoms (& Other Barrier Methods)

We sell condom wallets with 8 condoms for $2.00. Bring your wallet back empty and get a refill for $1.50. We sell pre-filled wallets of the regular lubricated and tropical flavour varieties, or you can mix and match your own. Alternatively, we sell both polyurethane male and "female" or reality condoms (great for those with latex allergies). We also sell latex dental dams.
Remember: Barrier methods are the only form of protection that protects you from sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Lube, lube, LUBE!

Here at the SHRC, we can't say enough about lube! We sell several different varieties including O'My (a water-based, sugar-free, vegan-friendly lube in a beautiful purple pump bottle), Slippery Stuff (also sugar-free), Astroglide, KY Jelly (thicker for extended, rough, or anal play), and JO silicone lubricants (condom compatible and extra slippery).
Oil-based products such as vegetable oil, Vaseline, Crisco, baby oil, mineral oil, etc. will break down latex and are NOT compatible with latex condoms!

Our Lubes

O'My (4 oz. pump bottle)
Astroglide (2.5 oz. bottle)
KY Jelly (4 oz. tube)
Slippery Stuff (4 oz. bottle & 16 oz. pump bottle)
JO Silicone (4 oz. bottle)
JO Silicone Warming (2.5 oz bottle)

We also sell smaller sample sizes so you can give each variety of lube a test run before you invest in a bigger bottle.

Spermicidal Contraceptives

The SHRC sells spermicidal jelly, sponges, and vaginal contraceptive film or VCF (a bio-adhesive film that is inserted into the vagina near the cervix and dissolves away after a few hours).

The SHRC does NOT sell spermicidal condoms.

Why? Spermicidal condoms do not have enough spermicide on them to actually kill sperm, if your condom breaks. Spermicide does, however, cause micro-tears to form in the vaginal walls making you more susceptible to contracting STIs. Spermicide is a great contraceptive option for some people, but it just doesn't make sense on condoms!

Spermicide contains nonoxyl-9, and some people are allergic to it. Not sure if you're allergic? Come to the centre and try some on your wrist. It's better to get a rash on your wrist now than one somewhere else in the heat of the moment!

Our Spermicides

Gynol Jelly (108 g tube with applicator)
VCF (6 films)
Sponge (4 sponges in a box)

The SHRC does not sell any prescription birth control (eg. the pill, the patch, Depo Provera), however, we're happy to talk about hormonal contraceptive options with you and explain the benefits and drawbacks of each, if it's something you want to consider.

Pregnancy Tests

We sell Clearview II pregnancy tests for $4.00. They detect the hormone HCG in first morning urine 14 days after the day you think you may have become pregnant. Each test comes with a cup, eyedropper, and an instruction pamphlet. Come to the SHRC to grab one and a Sexpert will be happy to walk you through how to use them.

If you have had unprotected sex in the last 72 hours and want to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, the emergency contraceptive pill is an option for you.

Alternative Menstrual Products

The SHRC sells the Diva Cup, a silicone cup that sits just inside the vagina and collects menstrual blood. It is reusable (boil it in water to sterilize) so it saves you money, and it is great for the environment because it reduces waste. We sell them for $40 and allow a three month trial period so you can take it home and give it a go. If it works, wonderful! If it's not right for you, bring it back in a baggie and we'll send it back and refund your money, no questions asked.

Toys

Sex toys need not vibrate, be phallic, or made of silicone or mystery rubber. A sex toy is anything that makes you feel sexy!

Silicone Toys

Silicone toys are hypo-allergenic and great if you plan on sharing - when you're done using your toy, pop it in boiling water to sterilize.

Flared bases

Flared bases are essential for toys used for anal penetration. If your toy does not have a flared base, do not use it for anal penetration! Your anal sphincter is a pretty powerful suction mechanism. If you lose your toy, you'll be in for an embarrassing trip to the ER.

This is what a flared base looks like:

This is the Pro-Touch, a toy we sell at the SHRC. It can be used for anal penetration (with the curved end pointed towards the belly button for prostate stimulation), so it has a flared base.

Cock Rings

Cock rings are usually worn at the base of the penis, behind the scrotum, although some men wear them around the shaft of the penis only. It is recommended that cock rings be worn for no longer than they are comfortable, or 45 minutes, whichever is shorter. If you're using a ring for the first time, you may want to remove it after five or ten minutes so you can become familiar with the various sensations cock rings provide.
