The QTKD executive provides student leadership for the club and is responsible for all non-instructional administration. Send us an e-mail or talk to us in class if you have any question or concerns.
Kristina has been a member of the club since 2004 and has obtained the rank of purple belt. She has been training in the martial arts since 1998 and holds a black belt in the International Tae Kwon Do Federation. Her duties include overseeing the activities of other executive members and representing the club to the PEC administration.
Mike joined American Kang Duk Won in the fall of 2005, keen to continue training in the martial arts. A fourth year Poli. Sci. student, Mike trained in Tae Kwon Do for two years before coming to Queen’s, but hopes to continue after graduation. His duties include providing support to the club President and organizing social events. Currently at the level of purple belt, Mike is looking forward to this year’s classes and tournament.
Laura has been a member Queen's Kang Duk Won since September 2006. She holds a black belt in the World Tae Kwon Do Federation and has been practicing Tae Kwon Do for 8 years. Her duties as Co-Treasurer and Equipment Officer include organizing the club's finances and ordering and selling equipment.
Richard currently holds his green belt and is the Co-Officer responsible for the club’s equipment and finances. He is in third year Mechanical Engineering and joined Queen’s Tae kwon Do to try something new. Richard started in September 2006 with absolutely no martial arts experience besides what he learned from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Lucia became a member of the Queen’s Tae Kwon Do Club in the fall of last year and is currently at the level of green belt. Having no experience in martial arts, Lucia joined to learn self-defense and to become more physically fit. Lucia is co-safety officer of the club alongside Mark Daubaras: their duties include managing the first aid kit, safety action plans, and waiver forms. She is also responsible for updating the club website. Lucia hopes to perform at her best in this year’s classes and tournament.
Mark has been attending the club since Fall 2006 and has attained the rank of green belt. A second year Biochemistry student, he joined the club to begin training in Tae Kwon Do again after a departure from the martial arts six years earlier. His secretarial duties involve ensuring all executive members have a copy of any information discussed at executive meetings. He also shares the duties of safety officer with Lucia Wang.
